A mobile, collapsible exhibition pod conceived for the 50-year anniversary of Chanel's famous quilted handbag...

Chanel creative director Karl Lagerfeld has teamed-up with famed architect Zaha Hadid on a mobile, collapsible exhibition pod conceived for the 50-year anniversary of Chanel's famous quilted 2.55 handbag. The 6,000-square foot traveling exhibition houses art inspired by the signature quilted handbag and has already been displayed in Hong Kong and Tokyo.

Now the Mobile Art pod hits New York where it will be on display in Central Park where the summer stage usually sits.
It’s free to the public and will be on display through November 9th at which point it will be disassembled and head to London followed by Moscow and Paris.

Inside the pod, which is made of 700 parts that take no less than four weeks to assemble and two weeks to take apart, visitors will find Chanel-inspired work done by twenty cutting-edge artists including David Levinthal, Yoko Ono, Wim Delvoye and Nobuyoshi Araki, whom Lagerfeld personally commissioned.
