Haute couture season opened in Paris yesterday, June 30th, and the season’s most highly anticipated couture shows include Giorgio Armani’s 35th-anniversary show, John Galliano 's show for Christian Dior, Karl Lagerfeld's show for Chanel, young Italian designer Alessandra Facchinetti's couture debut for Valentino (replacing the recently retired Valentino Garavani), Gaspard Yukievich for Maison Rodier, Yohji Yamamoto, Jean-Paul Gaultier, and the 37 year-old Ma Ka, who will be the first Chinese designer to unveil a couture collection.
